Impart skill based education: C T Ravi

Chikmagalur, March 24: Speaking at job fair organised by the Vande Mataram Trust and My Netkit Solution at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology in Chikmagalur on Saturday, he said India is known for knowledge. However, after the British arrival, there was lack of social respect and indifferences increased. This led to decline in cottage industries and increase in unemployment. Respect towards profession also declined.

Had there been respect towards each and every profession, then there would not have been unemployment in the country. There is a need to impart skill based education to ward off unemployment.

Freedom fighter S V T Guptha said that to free India from the clutches of the British, all leaders irrespective of caste and religion fought unitedly. The martyrs had laid down their lives for the country.
Unfortunately, corruption has raised its ugly head. The youth should work towards building a healthy and strong society. College Principal Dr C K Subbaraya said that human resource is the biggest asset for a country. It will help in the growth of a country.
“Two decades ago campus selection was restricted to IITs and IIMs. However, now campus selections are held all over. The companies come in search of talented youth. Talent, creativity, commitment, communication skills help in getting a job,” he said.

Corporation Bank Self-Employment Training Centre Manager Sathyesh, Vande Mataram Trust’s Prithesh and others were present.
